Hepatitis B is the most common form of Hepatitis in the world. It can be transmitted via sexual activity or through contaminated blood/improperly sterilized surgical instruments. This vaccine is a three dose series, with the second dose given one month after the first and the third dose given six months after the first injection. There is a rapid course of inoculation if there are time constraints to your travel. The hepatitis B vaccine is recommended for all sexually active adults. For those planning to travel in countries with high incidence of Hepatitis B, vaccination is recommended. These areas include: sub-Saharan Africa, the Balkans, Southeast Asia, Korea, Indonesia, China, the Middle East, South Pacific Islands, central Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
